Ayurveda is one of the oldest medical systems in the world, originating in India about 5,000 years ago. It offers a rich perspective and practical tools for leading a long, healthy, and happy life. Ayurveda teaches us that the daily choices we make about our experiences change our bodies. These choices include those about food, personal relationships and emotions, sensory experiences, sleep, work, and your daily routine. Ayurveda is the sister science to yoga, and it will complement your yoga practice.
We work with individuals to first understand their unique body/mind type and teach classes in Ayurvedic Nutrition, Emotional Release, Healing with Senses, Daily Routine, Meditation, and Breathwork. Learn about our instructor, Renu, below!

Our instructor, Renu Pani-Chakravarty, Esq. is an internationally certified Chopra Ayurvedic Health Instructor through the Integrative Institute of Nutrition. She received her education from the proprietary Ayurvedic Health program innovated by the world renown, Deepak Chopra, MD. Renu, grew up in an Indian American household and is a corporate attorney who became passionate about bringing Eastern holistic healing practices to people who would like to complement their current medical therapies, or to those who would like to learn how to live a healthier lifestyle. Renu also has an undergraduate degree in Pyschobiology from Binghamton University, which is the study of how the mind affects the physiology of the body and how the body affects the mind. The educational foundation of Ayurveda teaches that the mind and body are not separate, and that each influences the other. As a two-time cancer survivor, and someone who has suffered from autoimmune issues, Renu is particularly in tune to serve those people who have undergone or are currently undergoing cancer treatment, or dealing with an autoimmune disease. Ayurveda was instrumental to Renu while dealing with her health conditions, and she wants to now pass on this wisdom to others.
There are seven sessions that are currently taught over Skype for one hour or more each:
1. Introduction to Ayurveda (should be taken first): learn the basics of Ayurveda and finding out your particular mind/body type
2. Ayurvedic Nutrition: learn about food and drinks that can keep our minds clear and a body that feels vibrant
3. Emotional Release: learn how our body and mind are deeply affected by our emotions
4. Healing with Senses: learn how our senses metabolize into the chemistry and electricity of our body and mind and can either strengthen our health or deplete it.
5. Daily Routine: learn about daily practices to cultivate health and emotional well-being
6. Meditation: learn how meditation benefits your body, mind and spirit
7. Breathing Techniques: learn how breath work reverses the stress response
